Description

Bovine Rhinotracheitis -Virus Diarrhea Vaccine Modified Live Virus. Express® 3 contains neomycin as a preservative.

Advantages

Express 3 administration allows cattle to launch a serological and CMI response against an IBR challenge and provides broad BVD protection with extremely high serological titers.


Dosage & Administration

Rehydrate one bottle of modified live virus vaccine by aseptically adding one bottle of liquid diluent. Using aseptic technique inject a 2 mL dose Sub-Q. Repeat in 14 to 28 days and once annually. Calves vaccinated before 6 months of age should be revaccinated at 6 months. A 2 mL booster dose is recommended prior to time of stress or exposure.


Precautions

Store out of direct sunlight at 35∞ - 45∞ F (2∞ - 7∞ C). Avoid freezing. Shake well before using. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 21 days of slaughter. Do not use in pregnant cows or in calves nursing pregnant cows. Burn containers and all unused contents. Injection site swelling may occur. Anaphylactoid reactions may occur.

Antidote: Epinephrine.


Uses

Express 3 is recommended for vaccination of healthy, susceptible cattle as an aid in the reduction of disease caused by IBR, BVD Types 1 & 2.


Warning

Animal inoculation only. Accidental injection to humans can cause serious local reactions. Contact a physician immediately if accidental injection occurs. It is possible that healthy appearing cattle can be persistently infected with or incubating virulent BVD virus at the time of vaccination. BVD vaccine is contraindicated in persistently infected cattle and use should be limited only to healthy, immunocompetent, unstressed, non-pregnant cattle.
