Description

Bovine Rhinotracheitis-Virus Diarrhea-Parainfluenza3- Respiratory Syncytial Virus Vaccine, Modified Live Virus, Haemophilus Somnus Bacterin. Express® 5-HS contains neomycin as a preservative.

Advantages

Express 5-HS administration allows cattle to launch a serological and CMI response against an IBR challenge and provides BVD protection with extremely high serological titers.


Dosage & Administration

Using aseptic technique inject a 2 mL dose Sub-Q in front of the shoulder and midway of the neck away from the suprascapular lymph node. Repeat BRSV and H somnus fractions in 14 to 28 days. A 2 mL booster dose is recommended annually. Calves vaccinated before 6 months of age should be revaccinated at 6 months.


Precautions

Store out of direct sunlight at 35∞ - 45∞ F (2∞ - 7∞ C). Avoid freezing. Shake well before using. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 21 days of slaughter. Stressed cattle should not be vaccinated. Do not use in pregnant cows or in calves nursing pregnant cows. Burn containers and all unused contents. Injection site swelling may occur. Anaphylactoid reactions may occur.

Antidote: Epinephrine.


Uses

Express 5-HS is recommended for vaccination of healthy, susceptible cattle as an aid in the reduction of disease caused by IBR, BVD Types 1 & 2, PI3,, BRSV, H somnus.


Warning

Animal inoculation only. Accidental injection to humans can cause serious local reactions. Contact a physician immediately if accidental injection occurs. MLV BVD vaccine is contraindicated in persistently infected cattle and use should be limited only to healthy immunocompetent, unstressed, non-pregnant cattle.
