Description

Oxytetracycline HCl. Oxy 1000 Calf Bolus is an oral formulation containing oxytetracycline, a broad spectrum antibiotic that possesses a high order of stability and potent antimicrobial activity.

Oxy 1000 Calf Bolus is a broad spectrum, bacteriostatic antibiotic for use in beef and dairy calves.


Dosage & Administration

Control: Administer orally half a bolus, 500 mg oxytetracycline HCl, per 200 lb of body weight every 12 hours for up to four consecutive days. Treatment: Administer orally one bolus, 1000 mg oxytetracycline HCl, per 200 lb of body weight every 12 hours for up to four consecutive days.


Precautions

Store at controlled room temperature 15∞ - 30∞ C (59∞ - 86∞ F). Restricted drug in California. Use only as directed.


Uses

Recommended for oral administration for the control and treatment of the following diseases of beef and dairy calves caused by organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline: bacterial enteritis caused by S typhimurium and E coli, colibacillosis, bacterial pneumonia, shipping fever complex, pasteurellosis, caused by P multocida.


Warning

There is no pre-slaughter withdrawal period when used at the recommended dosage level. Not for use in lactating dairy cattle. A withdrawal period has not been established for this product in pre-ruminating calves. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal. For use in animals only.
